Earthseed Village’s Community Learning Co-Op is a collaborative, community-driven program welcoming homeschoolers, unschoolers, and traditionally schooled families alike. Parents are active participants here: hosting sessions, sharing skills, and learning alongside their children. This program is not meant to replace your child's academic curriculum. It is designed to enrich it, offering real-world, hands-on learning experiences rooted in nature, culture, and creativity.

Weekly Activities include:

  1. Outdoor Exploration: Playgrounds, gardens, nature centers, and local hikes are all part of our learning routine.

  2. Practical Skills: Gardening, cooking, and sewing are just some the life skills we learn together.

  3. Creative Expression: From arts and crafts to music, our learning is rich in creativity.

  4. Field Trips & Community Events: Field trips, film + craft nights, and potlucks allow for community bonding and fun learning experiences outside the classroom.

Our most recent Spring Schedule:

Monday: Hula Hooping & Juggling
Tuesday: Co-working Play Date
Wednesday: Math & Movement
Thursday: Nature Walk
Friday: Letter Safari & Photography Class
Saturday (every other week): South LA Mommy and Me  (SLAMM) with Courtney

Parent Participation

This is a collaborative effort—our collective thrives because everyone contributes in a way that works for their family. Here's how:

Ways to Contribute

  • Host a session (lead a planned activity or outing)

  • Co-host (help with setup, cleanup, or guiding the group activity)

  • Bring food/snacks or supplies

  • Support behind the scenes (admin, calendar, communication)

You are not expected to do it all. Pick what feels aligned for your season of life.

Guidelines & Expectations

  1. Commitment: We ask that each family actively participates at least once per week and hosts or co-hosts a session regularly (monthly or bi-monthly is ideal), OR contributes by way of Admin support, or donating supplies

  2. Communication: Stay up to date via our group chat and shared calendar. Please RSVP to sessions and notify in advance if you can’t make it.

  3. Respect & Inclusion: All backgrounds of children and families are welcome. We hold space for differences in learning styles, parenting approaches, and cultures with mutual respect.

  4. Safety: Parents/guardians are responsible for the supervision and safety of their own children during sessions unless otherwise arranged in writing.

  5. Flexibility: Come as you are. Sessions are organic and evolving. We support each other through real life ups and downs.
